GRAND CHUTE, Wis. (WFRV) – The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers shrunk its list of 58 bacon-themed recipes that fans submitted to the 2025 Nueske’s Applewood Smoked Meats Food Fight down to a ‘Final Five.’
While the winner won’t be revealed until March 13, the Timber Rattlers held a taste testing event for the ‘Final Five’ contestants in the competition on Thursday morning.

While they’re all bacon-themed, there’s plenty of intrigue and difference between the five items selected, that are sure to flare up your taste buds.
Here’s a description of each item, according to the Timber Rattlers’ website.
- 3 Little Pigs Grilled Cheese – Nueske’s bacon, ham, pulled pork and three types of cheese between three slices of Texas toast with tomato-bacon aioli
- PB & J Bacon Burger – Burger patty with melted American cheese and Nueske’s bacon and peanut butter & jelly on a toasted brioche bun
- Bacon BB Burger – Grilled burger patty with fresh spinach, Nueske’s bacon, blue cheese, basil aioli and blueberry barbecue sauce
- Bacon Patty Melt – Burger with American and Swiss cheese, grilled onions and Nueske’s bacon on grilled rye
- California BLT Grilled Cheese – Texas toast buttered on one side with American cheese, mayo, avocado, Nueske’s bacon, lettuce, tomato and American cheese on the opposite side, topped by another slice of Texas toast
Each of the items was submitted by a fan, and the fan/submission that wins will receive four vouchers for any home game during the upcoming season, four vouchers for the food they selected and a chance to throw out a pre-game first pitch.
