Two Wisconsin men arrested after K9 finds a large quantity of suspected heroin

BLACK RIVER FALLS, Wis. (WFRV) – Two individuals from Wisconsin were taken into custody on Tuesday after a K9 alerted a deputy to potential contraband inside a vehicle.

According to a release, on Sept. 23, a deputy with the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office located a wanted subject, 34-year-old Jarred Mortenson of Black River Falls, at a residence in Black River Falls. The release states that Mortenson had an active civil bench warrant issued for his arrest through Jackson County.

During the investigation, a K9 positively alerted the deputy of potential drugs inside a vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle was performed, and the deputy reportedly located a large quantity of suspected heroin, marijuana, U.S. currency, and a firearm.

The passenger of the vehicle, 43-year-old Thomas English of Black River Falls, was taken into custody for possession of drugs with intent to deliver. He was also arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm.

Both Mortenson and English were transported to the Jackson County Jail. This incident remains under investigation, and no additional details have been provided.
