MENOMONIE, Wis. (WFRV) — The Menomonie Police Department is grieving the unexpected loss of Officer Sam Miller, who passed away while off duty.
Officer Miller joined the Menomonie Police Department in January 2024, bringing a decade of law enforcement experience. His career began in 2014, serving with the Pepin County Sheriff’s Office, Durand Police Department, Boyceville Police Department, and Dunn County Sheriff’s Office.

In light of Officer Miller’s sudden death, neighboring law enforcement agencies have stepped in to assist with public safety in Menomonie over the coming days.
“You will notice police vehicles from partnering law enforcement agencies in the community to help ensure law enforcement services continue without disruption,” the department shared on social media.
