Plea hearing for Elijah Vue’s mother delayed as we approach five months since his disappearance

MANITOWOC, Wis. (WFRV) – The mother of missing three-year-old Elijah Vue was expected to have a plea hearing on Thursday, but that has been delayed.

Wisconsin Circuit Court records show that 31-year-old Katrina Baur appeared by video in custody with her attorney, but the two asked for a brief adjournment to finalize some issues raised.

Baur will now be back at the Manitowoc County Courthouse on July 26 at 1:00 p.m. for a new plea hearing on behalf of Judge Robert Dewane.

Baur is facing a felony charge for chronic neglect of a child as a party to the crime and three misdemeanor charges for the disappearance of her three-year-old son.

The last person to see Elijah was Baur’s boyfriend, Jesse Vang, who is also facing a felony charge for chronic neglect of a child as a party to a crime.

Vang reported Elijah Vue missing on February 20, and despite thorough and extensive searches through much of Manitowoc County, he has not been found.

Vang will return to court on September 27 for a status conference.
