OCONTO, Wis. (WFRV) – Authorities in Oconto say no one was hurt Wednesday afternoon following a house fire that involved explosions.
According to a release from the Oconto Fire & Rescue, crews responded at 3:15 p.m. to 5417 Glynn Road for reports of explosions and a house fire.
On arrival, officials say a single-story, wood-framed home was seen with heavy flames and smoke coming from the garage and spreading into the home. At the same time, a detached shed was said to be fully engulfed in fire.
As crews worked to put out the flames, the fire spread to the attic and ran the length of the home.
Officials say an access hole was cut into the attic space allowing firefighters to extinguish the fire and put out additional hot spots.
Four engines, three tenders, one ambulance, one ladder truck, and two command vehicles with about 27 firefighters from the surrounding area were called in to assist with this incident.
At this time, no other information is available and an investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
