Driver on US 41 in Oconto County loses control, dies after crash into snowplow

OCONTO, Wis. (WFRV) – One person died early Sunday morning after they had lost control of their vehicle on US 41 in Oconto County and crashed into the back of a snowplow.

According to the Wisconsin State Patrol Northeast Region Fond du Lac Post, authorities were called to US 41 southbound at Frog Pond Road near Oconto around 8 a.m. on Sunday, February 2.

Troopers with the Wisconsin State Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash with an initial investigation showing a Cadillac lost control and hit the back of a snowplow.

Authorities say the snowplow driver was in the left turn lane and had stopped before the crash. The driver and only occupant of the Cadillac was pronounced dead at the scene.

The snowplow driver was uninjured.

Assisting agencies included the Oconto County Sheriff’s Office, Oconto Police Department, Oconto Fire and Rescue, Brown County Medical Examiner, and Oconto County Emergency Dispatch Center.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is conducting the crash investigation.
