Wisconsin man charged with attempted homicide, being held on $100,000 bail

COLUMBIA COUNTY, Wis. (WFRV) – A 62-year-old Wisconsin man was in court on Wednesday in Columbia County following multiple charges including attempted first-degree intentional homicide.

In a release from the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, Richard O’Hara of Friendship had his initial appearance, where he was ordered to be held in the Columbia County Jail as a $100,000 cash bond was placed.

The charges from the Columbia County District Attorney’s Office are as follows:

  • Attempted 1st-degree intentional homicide
  • Fleeing in a vehicle, eluding an officer
  • Operating a firearm while intoxicated
  • Concealed weapon carrying

An investigation unveiled multiple handguns owned by O’Hara along with shell casings fired by a handgun. While the investigation is ongoing, detectives are continuing to review the evidence.
