MADISON, Wis. (WFRV) – A man in southern Wisconsin was arrested after allegedly making racial slurs towards a neighbor and using a tire iron to cause damage.
According to the Madison Police Department, on October 28 around 12:10 p.m., officers were sent to an apartment building for a report of a disturbance. A man was reported to be chasing a neighbor with a tire iron during an argument over a parking space.
Officials say the tire iron was also used to damage an apartment entrance and vehicle. The man also allegedly made ‘several’ racial slurs during the incident.

The man, identified as a 24-year-old from Madison, was arrested on multiple charges which included a hate crime enhancer. He was reportedly taken to the Dane County Jail.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing. No additional information was provided.
