Fox Valley law enforcement agencies compete to ‘Arrest Hunger’ for St. Joseph Food Program

MENASHA, Wis. (WFRV) – Throughout August, friendly competition between law enforcement agencies in northeast Wisconsin will be on display to support St. Joseph Food Program in their Arresting Hunger food drive.

Law enforcement agencies in the Fox Valley area are teaming up (sort of) to compete to see who can collect the most food staple items for St. Joesph Food Program in Menasha.

“This food drive initiative combines friendly competition and fun while showcasing the amazing collaboration between law enforcement agencies across the Fox Cities,” said St. Joesph Food Program Development Director, Heather Du Vall.

Residents from throughout the Fox Valley and beyond are also being called upon to support their local agency by donating food items. Drop-off locations include local police departments, the St. Joseph Food Program, partnering businesses, and during local “National Night Out” events.

Competing law enforcement agencies include:

  • Fox Crossing Police Department
  • Grand Chute Police Department
  • Menasha Police Department
  • Neenah Police Department
  • Outagamie County Sheriff’s Office

“This is a program that is long overdue,” began Officer Daniel Wiechman of the Fox Crossing PD. “In years past, our agencies in the Fox Valley have partnered with St. Josephs to combat and arrest hunger and in 2024 we’re going to revitalize this effort and bring the program back to fruition.”

The competition will begin on August 1 and continue through August 31.
